Additional Credits to : Sparky of KISS Software (kelm@eisa.net.au) for converting the original distribution to wad format. ====================================================================== * What is included * New levels : None Sounds : No Music : No Graphics : Yes Dehacked/BEX Patch : No Demos : No Other : No Other files required : A utility to rename the sky within the wad to the required Doom/Doom2 sky name (sky1 sky2 sky3 sky4 rsky1 rsky2 rsky3). * Play Information * Game : Doom, Ultimate Doom, or Doom II Map # : All (this is a graphics-only wad) Single Player : Yes " " Cooperative 2-4 Player : Yes " " Deathmatch 2-4 Player : Yes " " Difficulty Settings : Not applicable ---------------------------------------------------------------------- USAGE: Say you're developing or playing a level and you want to see what one of these sky textures looks like in-game... Use a wad utility such as WinTex or NWT to rename the sky you want to use in lucisky2.wad. Rename it to the appropriate sky name in Doom or Doom II: sky1 Doom Episode 1 sky2 Doom Episode 2 sky3 Doom Episode 3 sky4 Doom Episode 4 (Ultimate Doom only) rsky1 Doom II Map 01-11 rsky2 Doom II Map 12-22 rsky3 Doom II Map 23-32 For example, say you've got a Doom II level which uses MAP07, and it's contained in the wad MYLEVEL.WAD; and you want to see what the map looks like using the new BLUSTARS sky: load lucisky2.wad into WinTex or NWT and rename BLUSTARS to RSKY1 To view the new sky in this example: doom2 -file mylevel.wad lucisky2.wad -warp 07 If you want to permanently add the sky texture to your pwad, just open both wads (with two copies of WinTex running at the same time), COPY the renamed sky texture from lucisky2.wad, and PASTE it into your pwad. The procedure for doing this with NWT is more involved, so I'll ask you to read the NWT documentation for details. * Construction * Base : Modified versions of existing sky textures (see the original text file appended below). * Copyright / Permissions * Authors are encouraged to use the contents of this file as a base for modification or reuse. You may distribute this file in any electronic format (BBS, Diskette, CD, etc) as long as you include this file intact. * Where to get the file that this text file describes * ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/idgames/graphics/lucisky2.zip The original text file from luciusky.zip follows: ============================================================================== LUCIUS' CRAZY SKY'S "u can find me on the coolest dwango server...Boston if ya didnt know" Most of these sky's I found in wads and then I edited them, making them much cooler. "THESE SKY'S ARE NOT IN A WAD FORM SO IF U DO NOT KNOW HOW TO PUT THEM IN, SAVE YOURSELF SOME TIME AND DONT BOTHER GETTING THEM" All of the sky's are regular "bmp" files and just need to be renamed in order to be placed in a wad using wintex or whatever u want to use. The sky names are pretty self explanatory but just incase your really dumb...here's a list of what you'll find. blustars.bmp- this is obviously a blue sky that is stars! crazysky.bmp- this is doom2 rsky3...I made it much cooler by making the mountains green. greensky.bmp- this is a green sky...clouds not stars. grenstar.bmp- green stars :) mnts1.bmp- mountains with tree's I colored in...(at least thats what they are saposed to be), well it looks cool anyway. mnts2.bmp- I found a really cool mnts sky and just made it look better. redsky.bmp- red clouds...it looks fuckin ballzy :) redstars.bmp- umm duh...red stars!!! woodsky.bmp- its a picture of the woods that i made into a sky. Thanks to all the people that made the skys, that I made look better
