Raven Config v0.5 Chris Eissman chriseis@eci.com I - Opening II - how to use it III - Controls IV - Bugs *** I Opening *** This is my awesome l33t' quake script. Its not complete yet, and it still needs to be optimized alot. (I had it perfect, then i had to go and format my hard drive :) Use it if you feel like it, but dont complain to me if its not perfect (i yell at myself enuf already, i dont need anyone else doing it too). I would love comments or anything that you have to say about it so please email me .. please? (okay, you can even complain, as long as you keep your complaints concise :).... Also, there may be a config page up at www.eci.com/chriseis/quakeconfig if its not there by mid-october 97, dont count on it though. *** II How to use this awesome thing *** ~~Note~~ - when unzipping this thing, make sure you keep the directory structure or it WILL NOT WORK. If you want to use it as is, open up "init.rc" and fix the part where it says "name _raven" to make it read "name ". The last thing i want is to go on to a server and have 5 _ravens running around. That simply wouldn't be cool. Also, when you start quake, you need to bring down the console and type "exec ../raven/init.rc". This starts my script. Then hit F1, and look at the menu at the top of the screen, and choose from the menu. I had multiplayer games in mind when i put it together, but itll work fine in death match mode for single player. NOTE: if you want to use it every time and dont like typing in the command on the console, you can put "exec ../raven/init.rc" at the buttom of your autoexec.cfg file. This will run it every time. *** III Controls *** ==The Setup== --Basics-- e - forward s/f - strafe left/right d - backward mouse - look up/down, turn mouse button 1 - shoot mouse button 2 - use second weapon (Hold down alt and hit 1-9 to choose the weapon you want this button to be. When you push mouse 2, it will switch to that weapon and shoot with it, until you let go, and it will switch to your previous weapon.. there is a bug with this. see bottom of this file.) 1-9 Weapons (9 is grap hook in capture the flag) -The following buttons choose weapons as well - they are easier to grab in the middle of a firefight r - rocket launcher g - lightening gun t - grenade launcher v - super nailgun Other buttons - shift - sniper.. zoom in (hold the button down) z - fisheye - zoom out (opposite of sniper.. hold the button) del - suicide (if you get stuck.. 3 times per ocnnection to server) space - jump --Capture the flag mode-- This is made for Threewave capture the flag -- I havn't had time to (or desire to) add thunderwalker only settings. These settins are fine for TWCTF tho. q - name of the player who the crosshair is on (ip 141) w - where the flags are (or who is carrying it) pgdown - throw some of your ammo out in a backpack (good for givin to teamates who are on d) left/right arrows - cycle thru skins (i dont know if this works cuz i have skins off) i suggest that you hit Alt-9 when you start playing so that the grap hook is set as the weapon for mouse button 2. f5-f9 are communication keys.. i forget what does what though. if you care, use trial and error to figure them out. --Death Match-- a - Rocket jump . Goes high, and short. c - Rocket jump.. Backwards jump. Long and low. f5-f8 - friendly messages (mostly :) w - rotate weapons .. (i think.. hehe) --Rocket Arena-- Same as death match, cept: j - get out of line to take a breather (imp 70) -=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=- *** IV BuGs! *** Bugs that i can think of off of the top of my head.. -The secondary weapon alias is buggy. For some reason, itll only switch back to the last weapon you hit the NUMBER key for.. so, if you hit 4 to get the nailgun, then hit 'r' to get the rocket launcher, then use the right mouse button to use another weapon, itll switch back to the nail gun. There is no logical reason for this, but i may take the time to try to fix the alias some time. Till then, deal with it :) -Sometimes during combat the script will start to act stupid, if that happens, then just hit f1 and re-choose the game type. All of the commands will be reissued, so it should stop being buggy. -For awile, some of the messages in Capture the Flag were not private (like ones about you playing d, or incoming enemies.. ) im not sure if i fixed this or not. if i didnt oh well, shit happens. maybe in the next release. There are more, i just cnat think of them. I hope this helps you a bit, if not, dont yell at me about it. Chris......... chriseis@eci.com PS - Propz to jakfrost who made the quake script site ( http://www.frag.com/scripts/ ) It helps you understand whats up and download some good scripts. PPS - This page has all of the console commands for quake: http://www.ccs.neu.edu/home/danielr/quake/console.html You must visit it if you plan on making your own script.
